Damages in a wrongful death case are primarily based on the value of the relationship. This includes provable loss of financial support in the future as well as compensation for loss of the love, society, affection, comfort and moral support that would have been provided by the person that was killed. Each individual plaintiff's case (such as the widow and children) must be determined separately.
